Experienced Care and Compassion You Can Trust
Regina Katz, LCSW
Are you struggling with an increase in feelings of Anxiety or Sadness, maybe more Irritability? Are you more preoccupied with negative thoughts about yourself or with relationships around you? Are you just not “feeling right” relative to how you remember yourself feeling some time before. Do you have a child or adolescent whose mood, behavior or eating pattern has started to greatly concern you?
We are not born with a set of instructions on how to handle everyday obstacles or certainly more complicated and painful individual or family struggles. Even the strongest people among us may need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. My ability to quickly develop a therapeutic relationship, assess the situation and set up a treatment plan will enable us to work together to manage difficult emotions, negative thoughts and destructive behaviors. I’m confident that together we can work to help strengthen and empower you or your family member with the necessary coping tools and support to help manage and overcome these hurdles.
You may not have control of all the life events that happen.
But you can control not being reduced by them
As a clinical social worker treating patients from Long Island, New York City and Westchester, I have specialized in individual and family treatment with adolescents and adults of all ages. My focus is on providing support and evidence based treatment, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and relational therapy, to assist in developing practical problem solving tools and strategies for many common issues experienced today. Post pandemic stress has significantly increased social and generalized anxieties and depression and has made coping with school/work, relationships, life transitions, bereavement and chronic medical conditions so much more complicated.
I am also a specialist in the treatment of eating disorders and was a member of an Adolescent Medicine team at Northwell Health Systems for over 30 years. I have extensive experience treating those with anorexia nervosa, bulimia and binge eating disorder.
My treatment approach is collaborative and based on the goals identified by you and/or a family member. I value a strong therapeutic relationship and a safe space for it to evolve. My treatment considers each individual’s personal strengths, individual and family history, and support systems available to them.
